Cruise
In Sun 31st August 2008 - SDC and HYC - Sailing
into Sutton Creek 2008 |
A
great day was held in Sutton Dinghy Club on Sunday
as 40 boats visited Sutton Creek and moored from
the Martello Tower right up to the Club. The 17's
sailed from Howth and and E-Boats from Clontarf.
It was a spectacular sight. This day is a very important
day in the social calendar of SDC and thanks to
all who supported the day. The food and bar b que
was excellent and up to the usual high standard,
thanks to all members who helped on the day, the
team was led by Carol and Caroline. The ferrying
in and out from the boats to the club was very efficient.
Well done to everyone. CYBC and HYC supplied the
launches, thanks to the two clubs. Photos |

Get
your name on a Trophy |
would like to encourage more sailors (particularly
the Juniors) to participate in Club racing more
often - by presenting trophies for each Monthly
Series. Aidan can get the trophies but he needs
sponsorship! If you would like to see your name
or your company name engraved on a Perpetual Trophy
for decades to come please contact the Club Office
at 839 3135. |
Car
Parking |
Our
club is situated in a residential area on a very
narrow road, and inconsiderate parking can cause
major difficulties. Local residents may find it
impossible to go in or out of their homes if the
gateways are not kept clear, and wide vehicles
(including buses and fire engines) may not be
able to pass a parked at a narrow point on the
road.
Please therefore observe the following rules:
*Use the carpark whenever possible.
*If you have to park on the road, do so on the
same side as the houses.
*Make sure to keep clear of all gateways.
*Do not park beside lamp posts or at narrow points.
*Do not use house gateways for turning or reversing.

needed |

you are already a trained driver, a sailor who would

Wanna be a Pro?
In sailing terms, the PRO is the Principal Race
Officer - the one who manages the race from start
to finish. We need more people to train as Race
Officers
- and you don't have to be a champion sailor! If
you would like to help run Club Racing please contact
Hugh Gill at 8393135 |
